I have a serious problem. I talk too much. I talked so much on my last job that I do believe it contributed to my being fired. I complain about various aspects of a job,I make suggestions that are neither requested,wanted,or appreciated, I talk back to anybody whether they be boss or coworker, etc. I try not to insult people but if you push me too far I just might go off on you. However,none of that stuff is good. When I get another job,I will definitely keep my mouth shut. If there is something I do not like, I will keep it to myself,realizing that no one really wants to hear my complaints or suggestions or what not. After all,if my employer wanted my opinion they would ask for it and if they wanted to change anything they probably would have done it before I got there. If I really do not like something so much that I cannot contain myself,I will just leave. What makes things even worse is that several coworkers made it quite clear that I was talking to much and I still would not shut up. I was in the I say what I want to say mode and nobody can tell me to shut up mode. What lack of humility. Sigh. The Bible says that warning cometh before destruction but I guess I was too busy running my mouth to think of or consider that. Yeah,my New Year’s resolution will be to keep my big mouth shut. I hope it is one I will be able to keep. For my sake.
On another note,I would like to address people that have a bad habit of insulting others because they just have to say whatever negative thoughts comes to their minds concerning folks. They may call themselves outspoken but what they really are is uncontrolled,obnoxious,and inconsiderate. They are thoughtless. They do not consider or do not care how much their words can hurt other people. The only thing I can hope is that they eventually realize the error of their ways before somebody gives them a beat down or shuts them up permanently. Believe me, insult enough people and eventually someone might go medieval on your behind. And you know what I will say if they go medieval without killing the person? It was a lesson they needed to learn. Heck, I would not even testify against somebody for beating up someone that is known to deliberately offend folks all the time. I would testify if they murdered them but other than that I would have nothing to say. Yes,there is freedom of speech and all that but people should also have enough common sense to not go out of their way to insult folks. Especially strangers. You never what they might do in response. Life is too short and your health is too valuable to risk both saying stuff that you really could have kept to yourself. If only everyone lived by the old saying. “If you don’t have anything nice to say then do not saying anything at all.” What a better world this would be.
